Business Biography

Michael Beaton has been one of the leading real estate brokers on Boston’s North shore for more than 29 years and has sold hundreds of properties including single and multi-family homes, inns and hotels, commercial and investment properties, land and subdivisions, and condominium conversions.  Michael has a friendly and relaxed style and uses his experience, and exceptional real estate skill, to deliver an extraordinary experience for his clients. 

He is consistently recognized as trustworthy, deeply knowledgeable in all matters relating to real estate, and highly responsive.  He has also earned several industry designations including the Certified Luxury Listing Specialist and the Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) degree.

Michael has a long history of leadership roles in the community and in business.  He is a lifelong resident of Rockport, Mass. and was both the Chairman of the Rockport Board Selectmen as well as Chairman of Rockport Public Safety.   He very successfully owned and operated Beaton Real Estate in Rockport for many years and was the founder and President of Cape Ann Brewing Company in Gloucester, which grew to include several facilities operating in multiple states.  A trusted business advisor, he sits on the Board of Corporators of Cape Ann Savings Bank and was formerly a Director of  Day by Day Adult Day Care Center  both in Gloucester MA.       

Michael has also been a recognized leader in the real estate brokerage community.   He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the North Shore Association of Realtors and has also sat on multiple committees within the board including Professional Standards, Grievance Resolution, Strategic Planning, Finance, and Government Affairs.  A graduate of Rockport High School and the University of Maine at Orono, Michael lives in his hometown of Rockport, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.

As a first time home buyer I had very specific criteria when I was looking for a house.  After looking for a home for over a year, and not finding anything, but spending a lot of time looking at things that did not meet my needs (and were more than I wanted to spend) I started working with Michael,  and within a month he'd found me the perfect place.   More than anything, I found Michael to be honest and to have my best interests at heart. Unlike other agents I spoke with, I didn't get the sense that he was trying to push me into something that was not right for me, just because he wanted the sale or commission. He was a lot of fun to work with and very patient with a first time home buyer who didn't know a lot about the process. Michael responded quickly to my calls and emails and was always available to answer even the simplest of questions. I really felt as though he went above and beyond in helping me buy my home.
